Parade Entrant Guidelines

All registrants are required to read, understand, agree, and adhere to these Parade Participation Guidelines & Information prior to registering to participate.

  • No nudity.

  • Keep it family friendly, please.

  • All parade entries must be less than or equal to 12’ (twelve feet) wide.

  • No “anti-” messages. Keep it positive, please.

  • If your parade entry includes music (recorded or live), please include details so that we may place you appropriately in the lineup.

  • The Queer Pride Parade Committee may accept or deny any parade entry at its discretion. We welcome questions and conversations about how you can keep your vision without disturbing ours.

  • No wasteful giveaways. Everybody loves beads, candy, t-shirts and postcards, but we encourage you to please carefully consider whether those items will serve the mission of this parade. If the answer is a resounding yes, then go for it! Remember that volunteers are responsible for picking up any leftovers in the streets after the parade.

  • We want to know which businesses here support the queer community. That being said, the Queer Pride Parade is primarily an opportunity to express support for the queer community; it is not solely a commercial or marketing opportunity.

Parade Participation Information

  • Registration for the Queer Pride Parade on Whidbey is, and always will be, FREE of cost.

  • Pre-registration, while not required, is available below.

  • If desired, participants may include a brief description of their organization and its commitment to the queer community for use on the event website.

  • Day-of Parade Registration begins at 12-noon on Sunday, August 13th, 2017 at the "Bus Barn" parking lot behind Langley Middle School and Whidbey Island Center for the Arts. At the time of registration, each entry will be given its location in the lineup and should complete any final touches to their party.

  • ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST ARRIVE BY 1PM FOR ASSEMBLY

  • Participation in the Parade is limited due to space. There is a possibility we will not have room for some participants who arrive to register on the day of the parade.

  • The parade will begin promptly at 2pm, led by the parade Grand Marshal. Entrants will depart from the bus lot and follow the marked route. We estimate the parade will conclude back at the bus lot by 3pm. There is an hour, 3-4pm, for breakdown and disassembly.

Thank you for participating in this annual event! We appreciate your support.

See you on August 13th!
