Registration, Volunteering, T-shirts!

Registration to participate as a walker, rider, floater, cycler, what-have-you in this year's Queer Pride Parade on Sunday, August 14th opens on Wednesday, June 15th! There is no cost to march/stride/roll/jive/what-have-you in the Queer Pride Parade.

In addition to the parade, we will also be accepting registrations on our first annual Booth Fair! We invite local Queer-friendly organizations, artists, and food vendors to apply for a booth for Sunday, August 14th. Details forthcoming. :)

But wait! There's more!

This year we are making that whole T-shirt thing a lot easier! On (you guessed it) Wednesday, June 15th we'll publish a link to where you can order your size/style/color online and we'll have shirts ready for pickup at any and all of the QPOW! 2016 events!

We will also have special CREW shirts (black) available for purchase at our Volunteer Meeting on Monday, July 11th!

And, last but not least...

THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed to our campaign so far. With your $300 and Whidbey PFLAG's sponsorship to QPOW!2016 we are $1300 closer to our goal, so we've made some adjustments to our budget, take a look at our GoFundMe Campaign Page and give if you can, every little bit counts in this crowdfunded festival!

That's all for now, folks! <3

PRIDE at The Clyde

We were so stoked to find out that The Clyde was bringing PRIDE to our town. Bonnie and I went to see it last Thursday with our friends Melanie, Kate, and Amy. Now, Bonnie has composed a review of the film for your consideration. Enjoy!

Morning People

Look, Moms, we're morning people!

Look, Moms, we're morning people!

Bonnie (left) and I (Kathryn, right) are self-aware non-morning-people but have also both "always wanted to be" morning people. This may have something to do with why our regular QPP meetings have had an early (okay, 8 o'clock) start. Now, some of you may be chortling at 8 o'clock being early. We get that. Many of you are probably more seasoned morning people. We're just getting started and I for one am hoping to somehow balance a fledgling "early bird" status with my strong "night owl" foundation.

Annnywwaayyy, THINGS ARE HAPPENING!

Our LGBTQ History Month Roll Call is three weeks deep on Facebook, we are in contract negotiations with two new clients about event planning and we're getting all of our ducks in a row to make announcements about next year's Queer Pride Parade on Whidbey as well as some new evolutions surrounding the parade! We're sending out our first newsletter any minute now (have you subscribed?) which outlines a CONTEST TO WIN A T-SHIRT and spotlights THIS blog post. (INCEPTION!)

Fun Facts: This week, Bonnie was featured on Writing Walking Women's blog and Kathryn quit her job to focus on QPP and Freelancing!

Until next time... #QueeritUp

The Blog is here!

Something amazing happened yesterday. Was that yesterday? We can't tell anymore, the days are growing shorter and there is a lot to keep up with in the Queer Parade world! (We'll get to that in a minute, back to the story...) We learned that October is LGBT History Month from our dear friend Doug Vitaly Návažná, and we've decided to join the fun.

Everyday, we're posting an icon from LGBTQ History on Facebook (and Instagram) and we're also taking submissions. Who do you want to see as part of our LGBTQ+ History Month Role Call?

But wait... there's more!

We—Bonnie & Kathryn—are already at work planning next year's parade and some major evolutions are on the horizon, so STAY TUNED. For now, make sure you're signed up for our newsletter to receive exclusive content and QPP news. We're so glad to have you with us!
